"Environmental protection and carbon reduction" has become an issue of common concern around the world. Hong Kong has also proposed to strive to achieve the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050 and announced the "Hong Kong Climate Action Blueprint 2050", proposing carbon reduction strategies such as "net-zero power generation", "energy-saving green buildings", "green transportation" and "universal waste reduction" . Excessive carbon emissions contribute to global warming. In recent years, extreme weather has occurred frequently in various places, often triggering destructive natural disasters, such as: major earthquakes and tsunamis, forest fires, storms, etc.…

In view of this, IFCO responded to the "National Waste Reduction" initiative; we took the lead in recycling furniture. The problem of furniture abandonment is quite serious in Hong Kong, and the cause is mainly related to consumption patterns. Due to the weak environmental awareness of Hong Kong people, furniture is the first to be discarded, especially due to the influence of traditional Chinese customs, such as "giving away the old and welcoming the new at the end of the year", which is the main reason for discarding old items.

IFCO pays close attention to environmental issues and therefore implements furniture recycling programs. We will also classify the recycled furniture into different categories:

Category 1: Furniture with high integrity, good condition, not too dilapidated in appearance, but can still be used
- Donate for free to communities or social welfare organizations in need to fulfill social responsibility
-Resell to users at a very low price, and all proceeds will be donated to the "Louis Koo Charitable Foundation"
- IFCO or relevant charitable organizations and social welfare organizations will present certificates of appreciation to donors

Category 2: The appearance of the furniture is too old, the integrity and condition are poor, and it cannot be used anymore.
- Properly dispose at refuse collection points and then transfer to landfills by official designated contractors

Regardless of whether the furniture is in too old condition and whether it can continue to be used, a certain recycling fee* will be charged to the craftsman for each piece of furniture. IFCO / SPAZIO VIP or Super VIP will recycle furniture for free or at a very low recycling fee. Please contact customer service for details.

Recycling furniture can not only extend the life of the furniture, but also contribute to local people in need, recycling and reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills. IFCO hereby calls on fans to join hands in environmental protection, carbon reduction and to help those in need in society. At the same time, remember to be a civic-minded citizen and never illegally abandon any old furniture on the streets.
